What?
Plan and manage the promotion, creation and execution of The Official Start to Cayman’s Christmas – the largest event of it’s kind in the Caribbean, possibly the world.

Island Companies is a well established luxury retailer in Grand Cayman. Each year, they host a huge networking event in association with the Chamber of Commerce in December – providing free gifts, food, drinks, prizes and entertainment to 3000 people over 5 hours. In 2013, undergoing a transition in their marketing department, they needed full event and budget planning and management. We also had only 3 weeks to pull it off.

How?
With such a short time frame, clear communication and planning was essential. We began by auditing the event and laying out a clear plan for each week and detailing the target budget. The client provided staff to assist with the project and each was briefed and given an area of responsibility to manage, and we hired vendors we have a close relationship with including Lions Productions, Tropical Trader Restaurant Group and Massive Equipment.

Progress was reported on a near-daily basis and meetings were held at least once a week to review actions. Local telecommunications company Digicel were brought in as a sponsor of the event which provided valuable funds and promotion but added further expectations to manage.

The event was managed successfully and Island Companies once again hosted the largest event of it’s kind in the Caribbean, possibly the world.
